Boy Caught on Camera Falling 20 Feet From Ski Chair Lift

A video captured a boy plummeting 20 feet down from a chairlift at Liberty Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania.

The 9-year-old dangled from the chairlift for almost a full minute after lift operators stopped the ride. Two adults riding with him struggled to keep from falling, but managed to stall long enough for paramedics to arrange them at the bottom. They hoped to catch him, but he instead landed in a pile of snow.

Amazingly, the boy escaped this potentially life-threatening situation with only an injury to his leg.

The video was taken by fellow Liberty Mountain Resort skier Adrian Delgado and first reported by Fox 5 Washington.

The resort is investigating the incident, but it appears that the family did not put the safety bar down or the boy slipped underneath.
