The Golden Globes kicked off the 2015 awards show season, and lots of celebs came out swinging with hot dresses that set the standard for the rest of the spring.

Lemon yellow dresses seemed to be the hot color of the season with actresses Naomi Watts, Leslie Mann and Jenna Dewan-Taum going for the sunshine tone that worked wonders on all of them. The flattering color was a nice change from basic black, as well.

Another stunner of the evening was Sienna Miller who rocked an on-trend long bob and a beaded boho gown.

Of course, we can't talk about glamorous red carpet fashion without mentioning George Clooney's new wife, Amal. The international human rights lawyer stole the show in a "Breakfast at Tiffany's"-like look with a black dress and white gloves, which she revealed were her own. For his part, Clooney wore the same tuxedo that he donned for their Venice wedding. Could they get any more perfect?

"'The Affair" actress Julia Goldani Telles, 19, wowed in this midnight blue Carmen Marc Valvo gown. The unusual neckline draws the eyes to her cute, cropped hair. (Photo by Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images)
Kate Hudson was white hot in Versace! The gorgeous gal turned more than a few heads as she showcased her svelte physique in her gown, which had diamond cutouts along the side. (Photo by Matt Sayles/Invision/AP)
Talk about a classy couple! George Clooney may have looked dapper on his big night, but his lady love Amal Clooney, stole the show in a “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”-like look with a black dress and white gloves, which she revealed were her own. (Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)
Emma Stone went for a pantsuit for her big night out! The "Birdman" actress’s look had a bedazzled top with a large bow in the back that made the potentially casual outfit ready for the red carpet. (Photo by John Shearer/Invision/AP)
"How to Get Away with Murder" star Viola Davis looked criminally gorgeous in this gem-encrusted, red gown that made her absolutely glow. (Photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images)
Jessica Chastain stunned in a metallic dress with a plunging neckline. She polished off her look with Jessica Rabbit-esque locks. (Photo by Steve Granitz/WireImage)

Reese Witherspoon brought Cheryl Strayed, the author behind “Wild," to the Golden Globes. The “Wild" star and nominee wore a stunning, white Calvin Klein dress, which fit her figure perfectly. (Photo by John Shearer/Invision/AP)

Jenna Dewan-Tautm and Channing Tatum were quite the cute couple. Jenna went for a pale yellow, strapless dress that was on-trend for the evening. (Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)
"The Theory of Everything" actress and nominee Felicity Jones looked like a Victorian queen in a full-skirted, high-collar, green Christian Dior gown. The look was completed with earrings that looked vaguely like ivory and a pale pink lip color.  (Photo by John Shearer/Invision/AP)
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are the target of a lot of envy, and we definitely see why.  (Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)
We're super into this chic, champagne look on Kate Beckinsale. (Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)

While some stars nailed their red carpet looks, other failed to wow and may need to find new stylists before the SAG aAards later this month. The entire cast of HBO's "Girls" left us underwhelmed with ill-fitting dresses and an odd decision to match hair and dress color.

Claire Danes is beautiful no matter what she wears, but her Valentino dress seemed to be a little big in the bust. Laura Pepon kept it simple in black, but came off looking a bit like Morticia Addams with her shiny dark hair.

Keira Knightley hid her growing baby belly in a custom Chanel gown with embroidered butterflies. A matching butterfly clutch completed her unique look, but we weren't a fan.  Bugs and ruffles are better suited for dolls or your grandmothers' tea towels, Keira. (Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)
Lena Dunham is becoming a perpetual red carpet fashion offender. While the color works really well with her chestnut hair, the dress was wrinkly and unflattering. (Photo by John Shearer/Invision/AP)
Lana Del Rey decided to go full retro mermaid in a teal gown with bouffant '70s-style locks, but the results are a resounding 'yuck.' (Photo by John Shearer/Invision/AP)
We love how actress Robin Wright embraced the crop top trend, but the black bottom and embellished slit makes this outfit look dark and heavy. (Photo by George Pimentel/WireImage)
Claire Danes has amazing style and this could have been one of her best looks, but it just looked way too big! The mesh top looked gappy and made us fear for a nip slip. (Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)
"Orange Is the New Black" star Laura Prepon went for an embellished, mermaid-style dress, but the black hair and necklace gave us Morticia Addams vibes. (Photo by John Shearer/Invision/AP)
Tiziana Rocc, an Italian PR agent, wore by far the most unfortunate look of the night. Just no. (Photo by Omar Vega/Invision/AP)
Some people loved Allison Williams' ruffled red number from Armani Prive, but we thought she looked like a sparkly extension of the red carpet itself. (Photo by Jeff Vespa/WireImage)
"Girls" star Zosia Mamet decided to match her frosty gray-purple hair to her two-tone, strapless, pastel number. There should be some fashion rule against that. (Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)
Golden Globe host Tina Fey wore a white and black, structured, strapless gown from Antonio Berardi. Between the sparkles, the poofy bottom and the seam that looked like a crease, this outfit was not her best and looked better suited for a high school dance. (Photo by John Shearer/Invision/AP)
Taryn Manning traded her "Orange is the New Black" jumpsuit for a black dress that looked a little like a trash bag. (Photo by John Shearer/Invision/AP)
Kerry Washington's red carpet look made a lot of expectant "Scandal" viewers groan. While the color looks stunning on the actress, the pattern and texture looked like the dress had been steamrolled on a sidewalk. (Photo by John Shearer/Invision/AP)
Ugh, that belt! Kate Mara hid her red Miu Miu gown with a tacky, tan belt. (Photo by Jeff Vespa/WireImage)
Another "Girls" no-no. Jemima Kirke wore a caped shirt that could have been cool, but the entire outfit looked too big and didn't match her rocker makeup. (Photo by Richard Shotwell/Invision/AP)
Kristen Wiig wore an off-the-shoulder gown with voluminous sleeves that looked more 1970s "Princess Bride" than Globes presenter. (Photo by Matt Sayles/Invision/AP)
Jennifer Lopez turned heads in a metallic dress with a plunging neckline and a cape, but we are honestly so over this look. We know you have a hot body, J.Lo, but we have definitely seen this type of dress on you dozens of times before. Mix it up!  (Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)
Melissa McCarthy wore a custom dress, which she told hosts she made herself. The look is the result of a dress she already owned with a new top to make a menswear style dress. She looks so amazing after her big weight loss, we wish she chose something less structured.  (Photo by John Shearer/Invision/AP)
Golden Globe nominee Alan Cumming certainly has eccentric red carpet style. The star rocked a tan suit and tennis shoes, but in a room of tuxes, his look was out of place.  (Photo by John Shearer/Invision/AP)
