An elderly California doctor has gained a cult following on social media for dressing in a rubber suit while pretending to be a teen girl.

Robert, a 70-year-old from Newport Beach, revealed his act on TLC's "My Strange Addiction." He is part of fetish group called "maskers."

The masked man goes by "Sherry" while dressed as the belle of the ball, he told the reality show. He has been wearing the rubber suits for more than a decade.

The septuagenarian does not give his real name, but claims to engage in the bizarre ritual "because I think I look amazing."

Video shows the doctor, who lives with his 19-year-old daughter, applying baby powder before donning the skin-tight getup.

"I just can't believe that's a 70-year-old man in the mirror and that's why I do this," he insists in footage provided by TLC. "If I saw a 70-year-old man in the mirror I would quit this tomorrow."

The elderly man is adamant, he is "an exciting looking female."

"If I saw a woman like this and she asked me to go hang out, I'd say yeah."

The divorced doc told TLC he has been suiting up for at least 12 years. His activities have gained him more than 1,000 friends on Facebook, many of them also "maskers."

Comments to his Facebook posts range from supportive to calling Sherry the "bride of Chucky," a reference to the horror movie of the same name.

Robert has appeared in multiple media reports, including an interview with the Daily Beast where he claims to have no idea how the fetish began.

"I wish to hell I knew," he told the Daily Beast. "I don't know what it is, why I started doing it, why I continue doing it, or why it's become such a compulsion."

Another person featured on the hour-long episode is a woman addicted to eating bricks.

Patrice has secretly eaten parts of her bedroom wall and chunks of a relative's home.

Linda, a 56-year-old woman, also details her strange addiction –- she is "happily married" to a 70-foot carnival ride named Bruce.
