It sure looks like a mythological god might have slammed his hammer down to create this hole in the sea. It certainly has the appropriate name, "Thor's Well."

Located in Florence, Oregon near Cape Perpetua, this gaping sinkhole in cook's chasm is a natural wonder of the world. Also known as spouting horn, at high tide or during winter storms, waves can reach a height of 20 feet high!

But as beautiful as it may look - getting close may be very dangerous. Sharp rocks are everywhere and a strong surge of water could suck you down into the abyss.

Estimated to likely be around 20 feet deep by its visitors, a photographer, Darren White, told roadtrippers.com he thought that "anyone who were to ever fall in would never, ever survive."
