Three-peater! Duchess Kate dazzles at final NYC event in repeat dress

Updated

Prince William and Duchess Kate finished off the New York City leg of their American tour on Tuesday night in a spectacular fashion.

The royal couple attended a fundraiser for St. Andrew's University -- their alma mater and the place where they first met.

Never one to disappoint in the style department, Kate stunned at the reception in a midnight blue Jenny Packham gown, which, as many Middleton fans know, is a repeat outfit. The pregnant and thrifty royal has worn this dress twice in the past -- once at the 100 Women in Hedge Funds last October and again in February.

The event, which was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to celebrate the school's 600th anniversary, was packed with 450 attendees, some of whom paid $10,000 to hobnob with the royals. Comedian Seth Meyers gave a toast to the beautiful couple.

This was a busy week for the couple. Kate and Will kicked off their tour by splitting ways with Kate heading to Harlem to (poorly!) wrap presents and meet children, who were reportedly disappointed that she wasn't "Frozen's" Princess Elsa. Will dashed down to Washington D.C. to visit with President Obama and speak about his wildlife conservation efforts.

The duo reunited for a Brooklyn Nets game on Monday where they caused a minor internet freak out after meeting Jay Z and Beyoncé court-side. Later they got cozy with basketball royalty LeBron James, who caused a mini ruckus after he committed a huge faux pas by putting his arm around Kate for a picture. Luckily, she didn't seem to mind!

After their fun night out, the couple took a more somber note on their third and final day and toured the 9/11 memorial. A handwritten note was placed with flowers that said "In sorrowful memory of those who died on 11th September and in admiration of the courage shown to rebuild. William and Catherine."

The duo reportedly spent half an hour in the museum and the museum president told CNN that the Duke and Duchess had a lot of questions about the "survivors' staircase" that was salvaged from the tower ruins.

They polished off their New York tour that day by enjoying a classic New York attraction -- a visit to the Empire State Building.
