Sexual assault reports in military rise in 2014
According to a recent Pentagon report, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done to eliminate sexual assault within the military.
In 2014 alone there were 6000 cases of sexual reported. This is 8% more than the number of cases reported in 2013, and 66% higher than the 2012 numbers. This is the result of a combination of more incidents and more and more victims coming forward.
There has been a strong political push for more accountability from the military in order to eliminate the assaults and implement a zero tolerance policy of the violations.
