EAST ORANGE, N.J. (AP) - Two men, two women and a 6-week-old girl are dead after a house fire in northern New Jersey.

The Essex County prosecutor's office says the fire in East Orange started about 6 a.m. Sunday in a three-story, single-family house a few blocks north of Route 280.

The victims were identified as 79-year-old Alice Horton; 20-year-old Breiona Love, 6-week-old Lanore Carter-Love; 56-year-old Randy Horton and 60-year-old Ronnie Horton.

One female resident escaped and was rescued from the roof of the house, according to reports. Her name was not released.

Fire officials say the building is in a neighborhood of late 19th-century houses and strong winds helped fan the flames.
