Suspect in series of Florida carjackings arrested

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say they have arrested a man suspected in three armed carjackings around South Florida in which one person was shot to death.

The FBI reports that 35-year-old Gregory B. Moore was arrested Wednesday afternoon at a West Palm Beach commuter train station. Two other people have been detained, but no further information was immediately released on them.

Authorities say Moore first stole a car in Sunrise Tuesday morning and then stole a truck in Dania Beach. He made his way to Hallandale Beach, where police say he shot a man and a woman multiple times, killing the man. The woman is believed to be the suspect's ex-girlfriend.

After the shootings, police say Moore stole another car and drove north on Interstate 95, crashing near downtown Fort Lauderdale and then running away. Moore has a lengthy prison record
