Asking yourself or your friends "does this make me look fat" will only give you a bigger complex about your body image.

Researchers at the University of Arizona have found that talking about your body image creates more insecurities and depression. Examples of fat talk include talking about perception of weight, voicing comparisons with other people, and obsessing over exercise routines.

Maybe it's time to cut down on the fat talk. This research suggests that voicing deconstructive weight-related concerns can have very real and negative effects.
