Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps' life has taken an unexpected turn as he reportedly exits rehab, his girlfriend has revealed she was born a man.

Taylor Lianne Chandler made the shock disclosure last week in a lengthy Facebook post that explained an intersex life that saw her raped in jail after being locked up for extortion in the years before she "dated many celebrities."

"I was with Michael Phelps. I am Taylor Lianne Chandler," she wrote. "I have always been a female regardless of labels and personal opinions."

She was born David Roy Fitch, but lived as a girl even from a young age. Chandler says she has male genitalia and a uterus, but no testicles or ovaries.

"By the time I could walk and talk I made it clear I was a girl and dressed as one," Chandler wrote.

Chandler was put on testosterone blockers as a teen, underwent corrective surgery and her birth certificate was modified by her 18th birthday.

She soon after was convicted for passing a bad check and a DUI, but found herself behind bars a year later after attempting to extort a man for the money to finish her surgeries.

"Even though my birth certificate and drivers license said female they put me in a cell with 3 men and I was raped," she claims.

Chandler eventually escaped prison and sued the state of Maine while serving out a two-year parole, she claims. The state since created special facilities for similar people imprisoned in the future, according to Chandler.

The years since her jailing have seen Chandler meet and date many celebrities, according to her post. None of them knew she was born a man.

She was infamously gifted a Mercedes-Benz by singer/actor Justin Timberlake. But it is her time with Phelps that has shed light on her life.

Yes, I was with Michael the night of the DUI, the story of the Uber and crying and me wanting to stay with him that night are true," she wrote.

Chandler claims to be sad over possibly not having Phelps in her life, the only man she ever felt whole around.

"He is the first man I ever had intimacy with and felt comfortable and all woman," she wrote.

"I am telling my story to take the power away from the media and tabloids that want to hurt Michael and I," Chandler continued. "I will probably lose him, which hurts like hell."

Phelps has not publicly commented on their relationship or on his emergence from rehab. He was not able to be immediately reached by AOL News.
