The search continues for Miss Honduras who went missing with her sister just days before she was supposed to fly to London to compete in the Miss World pageant.

Maria Jose Alvarado and sister Sofia Trinidad were last seen on November 13 leaving a party in Santa Barbara, Honduras, in a car without a license plate. They were reported missing by family two days later.

National police say they have several leads in their search and are currently questioning four people, including Sofia's boyfriend.

Alvarado is a student who won the Miss World Honduras contest in April. She also competed in a modeling reality show on Honduran television.

Honduras is said to be the most dangerous country in the world, and tops the list for the highest murder rate.

Miss World is due to start on Thursday, with 120 contestants competing for the crown.
