Tenant rents West Village apartment for $10 a month

WEST VILLAGE (PIX11) – A median apartment in the West Village goes for thousands of dollars in rent, but one man signed up for $10-a-month, according to a report.
The New York Post reports that in 2009, current tenant Judd Parker convinced his 70-year-old landlord to sign an agreement handing him the 12 Minetta St. apartment with a two-bedroom duplex and a backyard for just $10 for the next 50 years.
Park allegedly sublet the apartment for $2,500 a month shortly after the landlord died.
In comes in a new owner of the building, Pari Dulac, who buys the residence for nearly $3 million and sees one of her tenants is paying just a minuscule fraction of what the others are paying.
After looking into it, according to the Post, Dulac realized the old landlord suffered from dementia and alleges that Parker, the $10 tenant, bamboozled the sick landlord into the unbelievable deal.
Now, Dulac is taking Parker to court, saying the deal was illegal and morally wrong.
