Jason Bateman's Hollywood Hills West hideaway is on the market for $2.25 million, and is being listed by his boyhood chum, Richard Ehrlich of Westside Estate Agency. The 2,879-square-foot midcentury modern-style house includes four bedrooms, three baths, a gated motor court, hardwood and stone flooring, and a waterfall cascading into a koi pond.

Ehrlich says the Los Angeles home, built in 1952, is "tastefully sophisticated." (See the slideshow below.) More than 75 brokers and clients jammed a recent open house, and Ehrlich expects a quick sale.

Bateman, 45, and his wife, Amanda Anka (singer Paul Anka's daughter), bought the house in 2002 for $885,000, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Bateman is best known for his acting work on TV's "Arrested Development," and film roles in "Juno," "The Switch," "This Is Where I Leave You," "Horrible Bosses" and "Identity Thief." "Horrible Bosses 2," where Bateman teams up with Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis, opens in theaters Nov. 26.
