10. Roosevelt Hotel, Los Angeles, California
This Hollywood Boulevard establishment is a must for Marilyn Monroe fans. The film legend lived there early in her career, and people say they've seen the image of a blonde woman in Monroe's old room.

9. Stanley Hotel, Estes Park, Colorado
People who like a little extra maid service and don't mind if it's of the otherworldly variety should ask for room 217. In it, a long dead employee continues to fulfill her duties by unpacking guests' suitcases and doing a little extra maintenance.

8. Crescent Hotel, Eureka Springs, Arkansas
The ghosts here have been around so long everybody knows their names. Frequent haunters include Michael, who fell to his death during the building's construction, and Norman Baker, a man who treated patients when it operated as a hospital.

7. Driskill Hotel, Austin, Texas
The good news is that a newlywed hasn't committed suicide in room 525 since it's been reopened. However, it does seem that the two women who did over the years could be behind the mysterious leaks and apparitions that turn up from time to time.

6. Queen Mary, Long Beach, California
Thankfully, this docked ocean liner is huge. Given the number of deaths that have befallen her and her unfortunate wartime passengers, there are believed to be 150 or so spirits wandering it at any given time.

5. Congress Plaza Hotel, Chicago, Illinois
The severely haunted state of this place could have quite a bit to do with its past clientele. Al Capone reportedly kept a suite there. Some say that his ghost still does. It's also where serial killer Dr. H.H. Holmes got to know his future victims a little better.

4. Hotel del Coronado, San Diego, California
Strange bumps in the night are typically attributed to Kate Morgan, a victim of love who's been hanging around since 1892. She's even tempered, except when it comes to Marilyn Monroe. Gift shop merchandise featuring the actress tends to otherwise inexplicably end up on the floor.

3. The Stone Lion Inn, Guthrie, Oklahoma
Before it was a bed and breakfast, the building served as a mortuary. None of the many ghosts that inhabit the place today are violent, but one is said to break out into fits of laughter in the wee hours of the morning, which is annoying.

2. Anchorage Hotel, Anchorage, Alaska
You know ghost traffic is high when the desk clerk keeps a separate guest log for spirits. One of the repeat haunters is the city's very first chief of police, who was gunned down in the alley in 1921.

1. The Jekyll Island Club Hotel, Jekyll Island, Georgia
If hobnobbing with the business giants of days gone by has always been a dream, get a room here. It was one of JP Morgan's favorite places in life, and it's believed to have remained so since his death.
