Anyone who claims Halloween is for kids hasn't celebrated the holiday in quite some time.
It's easy to argue that adults have taken over the holiday; costume shops are overflowing with 'sexy' versions of every possible get-up, and trick-or-treating has noticeably been replaced by alcohol-fueled parties. However, it would also be fair to say that celebrities (under the tutelage of Miss Heidi Klum, of course!) are actually the ones hijacking Halloween.
Proclaimed the 'Queen of Halloween' by BuzzFeed, Heidi Klum's annual Halloween party will celebrate it's 15th year this month, and the model has notably set the gold standard for over-the-top costumes. She's dazzled as the Hindu goddess Kali, a gorilla, Cleopatra, Betty Boop and a wrinkled old lady, just to name a few.
'I'd rather stay home than go out in an uninspired Halloween costume,' she explained in a 2013 Parade interview. And she expects her guests' costumes to 'wow' as well.
Of course, Klum isn't the only celebrity on Hollywood's Halloween scene. Bette Midler, Kate Hudson, Alan Cumming and Jamie Lee Curtis all host high-profile bashes, and costumed stars come out in droves to celebrate. TV hosts get in on the action, dressing up for special Halloween-themed episodes. Famous families post adorable selifes online. Young starlets impress even younger fans by sharing pics of their extravagant guises.
