Her bio begins with the simplest of statements: "Hi! I'm Red. I like to paint, but not with a paintbrush." An architecture student from Melbourne (by way of Malaysia), Red has been featured around the world for her uniquely exquisite use of textures and everyday objects to create her projects ... like food!

designboom did a full feature on her back in 2013 with a series called 31 days of creativity with food by hong yi (red) introducing a variety of tasty creations from Red as she plotted a piece a day for the entire month of March before sitting down for a great interview with them that you can read here: creativity with food series by hong yi (red) - week two. She has also created some pretty amazing plated food panoramas for Mastercard (featured in the above gallery).

Hong Yi's Instagram page is basically an endless portal into a delicious clickhole of pictures that you need to take some time exploring. Scroll through some of our favorites above and be sure to head over to her page for the full experience.
