Colombia women's cycling team uniforms cause controversy

All eyes are on the women of Colombia's cycling team ... because the women of Colombia's cycling team appear to be racing half naked.

Photos taken at the Tour of Tuscany are making their way around social media showing the Bogota Humana team wearing uniforms with flesh toned spandex around their waist, giving them the appearance that they're nude.

Brian Cookson, the President of the International Cycling Union, even weighed in on the fashion kit controversy saying the uniforms are just plain indecent. He tweeted: "To the many who have raised the issue of a certain women's team kit, we are on the case. It is unacceptable by any standard of decency."

But some argue that the media focus on these quote "camel toe" comments is worse that the outfits themselves. Adele Mitchell tweeted at The Guardiansaying "Dear @guardian your treatment of this story humiliates the Colombian women's cycling team."

The Huffington Post UK writes "[But] the most troubling part of the story isn't the outfits, but the way that appearance has - once again - completely overshadowed the sporting achievements of professional female athletes. In our opinion they are being reduced to nothing more than body parts."

The team has another race next week in Spain -- so far there is no word as to whether they will even be allowed to wear those uniforms.
