Child Expelled From School For Mom's Facebook Post

A four year-old has been expelled from school because of his mom's Facebook post.

Preschooler, Will Habat is no longer welcome at his private Christian school, Sonshine Christian Academy in Callahan, Florida. It all started after his mother, Ashley posted a critical comment on her personal Facebook page.

After feeling that she didn't have sufficient notice before school pictures day, Ashley posted, "Why is it that every single day there is something new I dislike about Will's school? Are my standards really too high or are people working in the education field really just that ignorant."

While she posted it on her private page, she tagged the Sonshine Christian Academy, which allowed the school to see it.

The next morning, both Will and his mother were called into the principal's office -- where they were handed an official letter of dismissal.

It read: "Your relationship with Sonshine did not get off to a very good start the first day of school. You utilized social media to call into question not only the integrity but the intelligence of our staff. These actions are also consistent with sowing discord which is spoken of in the handbook you signed."

It looks like students aren't the only people that can be forced to leave a school after a Facebook rant. Earlier this month, an Australian school chaplain was fired after posting a comment where he said homosexuality was not normal. He claimed "no-one is born gay."

Yep.... that must be some of those Good Ole Christian family values we hear so much about...... booting an innocent 4yr old out of school because their feelings were hurt over a facebook post. I'm sure Jesus is so proud.

The ABC's of life....Actions Bring Consequences.

Now "mom" doesnt have to be dissatisfied. She can look elsewhere for the Pre-K that can provide her with what she believes is an acceptable experience.

I agree with the school. I think the mom handled the situation poorly. A business, just like a consumer, is allowed to do business with anyone they choose.

Right or wrong, Mom should know that anything you post on Facebook is like having your thoughts written in 50 foot high letters, attached to a 3 acre sized flag and hoisted up a thousand foot tall flagpole, someone is bound to see it!

I'm on the school's side with the 4 year old's Mom. You can't talk public trash about an organization and expect them to be okay with it. Why would they want your kid in their school?

Ridiculous. One must not have an opinion on anything anymore for fear of reprisal. Sonshine school should be called "Dark Ages School". The principal is herewith outed as an IDIOT.

No one is ever wrong anymore.

Instead of dismissing the child, maybe the school needs to get its act together....

I hope the school refunded her son's tuition. Usually these private schools only want their money.

i'll bet the child doesn't understand why he is leaving that school.
seems to me that the lady could have been given a second chance.
