London Police Look For Stolen Car, Find Wedding Proposal

A marriage proposal by candlelight is grabbing the attention of people all over the world. And it might be because of who broke the news.

The Metropolitan Police Service in London tweeted about the romantic surprise for a couple of hours and later shared aerial pictures of the proposal.

Official police business? Not exactly. Believe it or not, the police were looking for a stolen car and instead discovered the "Will You Marry Me?" scene with thermal imaging.

Not long after, media outlets everywhere started to pick up the story. Although we're a little surprised no one seems to be pointing out how unusual this accidental finding is.

The couple wants to stay anonymous, so we weren't able to hear their thoughts about the random helicopter hovering over and tweeting their special moment. But they did end up scoring some awesome aerial photos.

And we agree with the hosts of ABC, who think this might change proposals forever.

The proposal was successful and according to an anonymous Twitter user, she said yes. We're not sure if the police ended up finding the stolen car, though.
