Top 5 Most Haunted Roads in the World

We've all heard some ghost stories, but some roads are just a little spookier than others. Here are the top 5 most haunted roads in the world.

5. Belchen Tunnel, Switzerland – The ghost of an old lady is known to haunt this Swiss road. One report said two women picked her up and she warned them something dreadful was going to happen. Then, she disappeared.

4. Stocksbridge Road, UK – Also known as the Killer Road, has been home to many ghostly sightings. Some security guards witnessed children playing on the road late one night, but when they disappeared before the guards could reach them. And the ghost of a monk has been known to appear on the road's bridge.

3. Highway 666, USA – Travelers on this haunted American highway have had reported speeding ghostcars, packs of devil dogs and a flaming, demonic semi truck that seems to drive right at the spooked traveler.

2. Tuen Mun Road, Hong Kong – Locals blame the high number of car accidents on the sudden appearance of ghosts in the middle of the road. A person will appear in an instant forcing the driver to swerve and crash. They say with every new carfatality, a new ghost will haunt the road.

1. Clinton Road, New Jersey – When visiting this haunted Garden State road, make sure you toss a coin into the river at the Old Boy Bridge. The ghost of a boy who drowned will throw it back. There have also been sightings of UFO's, mutated circus animals and mysterious glowing eyes.

It's amazing that Switzerland is not haunted by the ghosts of millions of Holocaust victims for its complicity in WWII.

abigailmartinez3, you are obviously one of the many “low information voters” in the U.S. if you believe that any criticism of President Obama,, however comical, is due to racism. Your reference to the Klan, below, is outrageous and smacks of YOUR racism. You are someone who obviously will vote for a candidate based on the color of his skin, rather than the content of his character. Your comments show that you are ignorant to the crisis this government is facing, thanks to the worst president in American history who has divided the American people among gender, race, and socioeconomic lines. Rather than unite and strengthen the United States, he is totally disengaged and doesn’t seem to care that this country is going to hell in a hand basket. He continues to put fundraising, golf, and tax-payer funded vacations before the American people. We are the laughing stock of the world, thanks to him. 2016 can’t come soon enough. Get educated, get a good job, and stop the race-baiting.

Me neither. I used to believe in Santa Claus, fair and honest lawyers. and hard working politicians who rarely if ever lied, but hey.... I was only 5 then.

There is no longer a 'Route 666' or 'Highway 666.'

The portions that run through New Mexico, Colorado and Utah were renumbered as Highway 491 in 2003.

This was due to lobbying efforts by superstitious people (Route 666- 'the Devil's Highway!!! Oh my gosh!!!).

The portion that ran through Arizona had been renumbered as an extension of 191 in 1992.

The reasons for the high fatality rate on 666 (491) north of Gallup, NM is that it is a long, monotonous, mostly unlit two lane that is often shared with half asleep pedestrians.

They aren't ghosts until someone runs them over.
