The best and worst dressed stars on the 2014 Emmy Awards red carpet
The detail on this Zuhair Murad halter dress was stunning, and we thought the Orange is the New Black star looked gorgeous.
Hayden Panettiere just completely nailed the whole "dressing the bump" thing in every way with this Lorena Sarbu dress.
OK, our editors were torn over this Prada creation, but there's no denying that Kerry, who had a baby just four months ago, is one hot mama.
WHAT is going on here? This cotton candy-like Giambattista Valli confection got lost in translation from the runway to the red carpet.
Lady Mary wouldn't expect anything less than this perfect Rosie Assoulin look.
Our one minor annoyance with this look is the red lip, but otherwise, Claire Danes is absolutely breathtaking in red lace Givenchy.
We love everything about this breezy J.Mendel look.
We want to love this Giambattista Valli dress, but the long sleeves feel off on the red carpet.
We love the idea of this Christian Siriano look, but it seems ill-fitting on Sarah's small frame.
She definitely woke up (in Elie Saab) like this. #Flawless.
There's just too much going on here, between the high-shine metallic gold, the pleats, the embellished middle, and the retro hair
We wish we could be half as perfect as Kiernan in Antonio Berardi.
Yikes! This dress was all over the place, from the architectural draping, to the heavy look of the material.
We love the hot pink color, but this look really disappointed us. The dress looks wrinkled, and Zooey's hair looks messy. Next!
This ombre Narciso Rodriguez look is too gorgeous.
This edgy Versace look is so edgy, but not over-the-top.
This dress just feels dated on Katherine.
The heavy fabric and dark color isn't doing anything for this look.
This is yet another dress that looks like it was created out of a set of a drapes. Are we seeing a trend here?
This Donna Karan Atelier look seems almost too simple from the front, but when you really look at it, Lizzy looks flawless.
Again, there's really too much going on here.
Well, we wanted to like this Monique Lhuillier dress, but the tulle feels too precious for the red carpet. Paired with Kaley's Kate Gosselin-style cut, we're not sure what to make of it.
We went back and forth over this Giambattista Valli look, but ultimately decided that Allison looks pretty perfect. Perhaps too perfect, but we'll let it slide.
This Opening Ceremony frock was the right idea, but we're lost on the peplum skirt -- looks a little hard to walk in!
Oh no, Melissa! You decide on this one.
Now this is what you do with a lot of fabric! January Jones seriously stunned in Prabal Gurung.
BACK TO SLIDE
The best and brightest Hollywood stars of the silver screen converged tonight to celebrate the 66th Annual Emmy Awards, providing us with some seriously drool-worthy red carpet envy. From Julia Roberts to Kerry Washington, there was no shortage of the usual stunners, but we're pleasantly surprised to report that a majority of the attendees looked absolutely amazing.
Red was trending hard early on in the night, with Claire Danes and January Jones leading the pack in some of our favorite looks of the night. Moms and moms-to-be also seriously ruled the red carpet -- pregnant Hayden Panettiere looked stunning in an embellished Lorena Sarbu dress, and Kerry Washington killed it in Prada just four months after giving birth.
Of course, it wouldn't be an awards show without a few epic fails (we're primarily looking at you, Lena Dunham). The good news is it looks she was having fun, and that's really all that counts. Click through the gallery above to see all the best and worst dressed stars at the 2014 Emmy Awards.
