Katy Perry, Riff Raff steal Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's style

Katy Perry and her rumored boyfriend Riff Raff just made a major fashion statement, but they may have ripped off another popular music couple's ensemble.
The "Dark Horse" songbird and her rapper plus one, 32, hit the 2014 MTV VMAs on Sunday night in matching denim ensembles, reminiscent of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's jean-laden outfits at the 2001 American Music Awards.
Perry and Riff Raff, whose real name is Horst Christian Simco, jazzed up their denim getups with dozens of rhinestones and the songbird added several clunky rings to round out her bizarre ensemble. She posted a photo on Instagram of her accessories and captioned the photo, "About to roll thro... Look for us in da lambo #THISISHOWWEDOVMAS."
Perry is no stranger to wild outfits at awards shows, but this is the first time we've seen the "Roar" singer hit the red carpet with a date in matching attire.
The raven-haired stunner and Riff Raff debuted a remix of her current single "This Is How We Do" on Thursday and have been spotted on multiple occasions together, sparking rumors that they're more than just collaborators.
Perhaps their coordinating ensembles point to something a little more than co-workers?
