How's this for a nightmare - waking up to find a stranger asleep in your bedroom.
According to police, that's exactly what happened to someone in Southern California last month - and they've finally got a suspect. Here's what happened: The woman told officers she woke up to find a strange man sleeping in the same room as her. *shiver*
But details on what exactly the suspect - identified as 29-year-old Jonathan Phan - was doing there are a little hazy.
Some are reporting the man was naked:
"An Orange County woman got even more of a rude awakening when she found a naked man in her bed."
Others aren't so sure: "I don't know if he was in his underwear, or ... naked."
Some are saying he was in the bed: "She wakes up, finds a strange man, asleep, in her bed, with her."
And some are saying he was at the foot of the bed:
"Police didn't say why Phan decided to get naked and nap on the foot of the woman's bed."
Regardless, the consensus here is there was a stranger in some stage of undress in this woman's bedroom - and that's terrifying.
According to police, the woman understandably screamed after seeing the suspect ... which caused him to hurry out of the house through a window.
And that's where this goes from a horror story to one of those "dumbest criminal" stories.
"Phan left behind his wallet, his pants, and his cell phone. He's now been taken into custody after, of course, police could ID him."
As KCAL reports, the cat-napping intruder was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary Aug. 15.
Police say Phan had forced his way into the home. But what they're not saying is why - since this all happened in late July - it took so long to nab him. You know, considering they had his wallet and his cell phone.
