Experienced rock climber dies after proposing to girlfriend

Experienced Rock Climber Dies After Proposing To Girlfriend

Brad Parker, 36, had just proposed to his girlfriend hours before falling to his death during a hike at Yosemite National Park.

The experienced rock climber and yoga instructor went climbing alone Saturday when he fell 300 feet.

According to The Press Democrat, Parker had been climbing since 1996, making his death an even bigger surprise to his family.

A park ranger said he was climbing without ropes and other climbers said they saw Parker fall just before 6pm.

Before his tragic death, Parker and his girlfriend, Jainee Dial, climbed to the summit of Cathedral Peak where he proposed to her. He told her it was the happiest day of his life.

This is the second climbing death in the park this year. His family said they plan to cremate him and spread his ashes at Yosemite, Sonoma coast and in Hawaii.

I can't ever remember a free climber who simply retired from the sport. Ways to die are everywhere...why go out and look for one. Same goes for Everest climbers. Is this sense of accomplishment really worth the risk of dying for? Apparently so. I'll take my chances on the freeway, thanks.

To retire you must die by falling and come to a sudden stop!

So another ignorant liberal is dead, who cares, it is good news. And it does not show he is an experienced climber, as experienced climbers use proper gear. He may have been climbing for years, but it looks like he is just a hack. I have been speeding for years, so I guess by that I should be in NASCAR. Maybe I could drive at 200mph plus without any problems. Just because some dead douche had climbed for a while does not mean he knows what he is doing, as this just shows that he did not, and does not know how to properly climb. As a typical liberal, he thinks that because he had done something before without dying, or getting caught he is an expert, and as such can do it anywhere. He was proven wrong, and the case is closed, along with his casket. HA HA HA.
