Cease-fire in Gaza holds for second day

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) -- A cease-fire between Israel and Hamas that ended a month of fighting is holding for a second day, ahead on negotiations in Cairo on a long-term truce and a broader deal for the war-ravaged Gaza Strip.

Delegations from both sides were in Cairo on Wednesday where Egyptian mediators planned to shuttle between them to try to work out a deal.

Some details have emerged about Hamas' negotiating points, including an internationally funded reconstruction of Gaza, which would be overseen by a Palestinian unity government led by President Mahmoud Abbas.

The cease-fire is the longest lull in a war that has killed nearly 1,900 Palestinians. Israel has lost 67 people, including three civilians.

In Gaza, people took advantage of the calm to return to their devastated homes and inspect the damage.

Hamas is a bunch of selfish cowards. Knowing when they fired a missile from a hospital or school, another one from Israel was inbound to that exact spot.

All the previous comments about Abbas are true. But this time, the Israelis will not agree. They will not allow $$$ and weapons to flow into Gaza until there is a disarming and demilitarization supervised by several countries that Israel agrees to, NOT the UN.
Israel will also reserve the right to enter Gaza at any time to destroy tunnels. You're dealing with Yetanhahu now boys!

Hamas "demands" an internationally funded reconstruction of Gaza . Hamas sure do feel entitled don't they? Did Hamas plan the altercation with Israel all along to get the crowded strip rebuilt from one family hovels to high-rises that will accommodate more people while hoping to kill as many Jews as possible in the process?. Not to mention the amount of donated money and financial aid Hamas plans to get to replenish their weapons supply to attack Israel at a later date. Horrible to think that so much of Gaza was set up to be destroyed and so many in Gaza were set up to die or be injured so Hamas could do some beneficial posturing in the radical Islam community and further their annihilation goals.

She said more than nothing.
Seems a small plot of land in Clinton liberal adjust the talking points. Was the reason for using children as human shields. Instead of saying using children as human shields is deplorable she side stepped.

Envy is one of the seven deadly sins. Lying is another, First they call themselves Phlios, next Pals, Now Charmers. They claim that they have no rockets and are not trying to build a nuclear bomb. they want to say I Ran the world because of there authority written in there scriptures. Can you believe it? A terrorist by any other name is still a terrorist.

As long as Hamas is unwilling to disarm there will be no peace. Those countries willing to help in the reconstruction of Gaza should seriously reconsider their position and insist that Hamas disarm before they invest any money. Why rebuild only to have it blown to pieces.
