The secret behind crop circles

Crop Circles Appear In Bavaria: That's Weird

These strange formations found in fields across the world have been widely reported since the 1970s and into present day.

Characterized by elaborate circular patterns of flattened wheat, barley or other crops -- many conspiracy theorists think these designs are not man-made, but formed by something out of this world, such as aliens trying to communicate with us or other mystical powers.

This Bavarian farmer's field is the latest pattern to make international headlines. The rings were discovered by a balloonist and have drawn thousands of enthusiasts who have arrived to sing, dance or just stand in the circle.

Most crop circles are believed to be man-made. The process usually involves using a wood plank and ropes designed to lay down crops with each step. This method was made popular by Doug Bower and Dave Chorley in 1991 when they claimed to have made most crop circles that have appeared in England since the late 70s.

Other theories as to the cause of crop circles range from swirling winds or aircraft that flatten the crops to electromagnetic radiation that forms the patterns. Scientists have reported stronger magnetic fields within crop circles and some people say that they experience a prickling sensation while standing within them.

Many crop circles appear near roads, populated areas and even historical sites like Stonehenge, which leads people to believe most are created by man. However, many crop circle enthusiasts and researchers still maintain they are made by forces beyond our understanding.

I took a dump once in a farmer's field and was arrested. I could have sworn they said it was a crap circle.

If man made a crop circle like that it would take about three to four weeks of planning drawing streaching the line to get perfect angles. I would imagine that in that time some one would notice 50 or 60 people doing that

Why do Crop Circles Exist? Hmmm.... Answer: It's more appeasing to the eye than that ugly graffitti so called art that trashes a neighborhood. Very nice from an air view.

Crop circle defiantly not two Brits trying to pull your leg. It falls into the same mysteries as cattle (animal) mutilation. Time to bring, if not already did, a few psychics in to help explain. Do not send any U.S. Government officials; they are, like Obama, untrustworthy!!!

Now what time are you supposed to take your meds? Did you miss a dose or two? It always amazes me there are still bitter butter queens always trying to turn it political. Please get a life or go read Dr. Suess and learn how to spell.

What amazes me is the precision. It is very difficult to do something like this without an aerial veiw to guide you. Also, wouldn't they be working at night? How would you see what you were doing without lots of attention gathering lights?
What are they using to measure so that the placement of all parts of the design remains accurate? Even producing designs like this on a table tob is an enormous effort requiring considerable skil.

I would guess that they are designed on computers and the execution of the design is planned in advance. Usually you would start with the largest elements and establish reference points for the remaining ones.

First they make the center, then set-up a work table with a model, then place a hardware store laser level on the pattern and follow the beam. A handyman could do it. I wouldn't waste my time nor buy anything I couldn't use to make money in my pocket.

The fact that they have become more elaborate over time is a sure sign that they are man made. If this were done by extraterrestrials, they would have been complex since day one. It's simply an evolving art from and really just a form of vandalism.

you must evaluate all evidence, not just that which you can dismiss to suit your preconceived notions.

Same for you. Many of the so-called scientific studies of those who claim that aliens did this, were made by people who lack any hint of scientific or technical knowledge. They betray themselves in no time--all one has to do is listen to them, and one's internal Kook Meter sounds its alarm in about a minute.
