Veteran L.A. Clippers forward Matt Barnes is hoping the world wide web will lead police to the whereabouts of the man suspected of fatally attacking his aunt in an early morning, brazen attack in the middle of a Sacramento neighborhood.

According to the Sacramento Bee, 48-year-old Tanganyika Williams was found bleeding and suffering from stab wounds to the upper body early Tuesday morning on a residential sidewalk. She was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital and grieving family members have since told police she was last known to be going to visit Michael Williams, her 51-year-old estranged husband.

Sacramento police officer Michele Gigante later added an arrest warrant has been issued for Williams, who has not been able to be located since Tanganyika Williams' body was discovered.

With an approving nod from investigators, Barnes has taken to social media in hopes of flushing the suspect out. "This dude stabbed my auntie in the neck last week & left her for dead on the sidewalk, she ended up dying on the way to the hospital in the ambulance. If you hv any info on his where abouts contact the #SacPD #SacramentoWeNeedYourHelp #RIPTang," Barnes posted to his more than 262,000 Twitter followers. He also posted photos of Michael Williams on his Instagram account.

Further describing Williams as 5-foot-7 and weighing slightly over 200 pounds, Sacramento police spokeswoman Michele Gigante revealed Williams is still believed to be somewhere in the south Sacramento area.

"My mom was a happy-go-lucky person who always liked to smile and have fun," David Williams told The Bee. "She loved her children and her grandchildren." Williams later added the couple had been quarreling in recent days, fueling the family's speculation all the more that Michael Williams may be somehow involved in the attack.

Authorities are now offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension of Williams and those with any information are instructed to call Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357.

An 11-year NBA veteran who attended high school in Sacramento, Barnes has spent eight of his NBA seasons playing in his native California with the Clippers, Warriors, Kings and Lakers.

Oklahoma Department of Corrections police data online also reveal Williams has previously served 13-years in prison for shooting his mother-in-law in the face in 1992 during a family dispute.
