Officials Say Photo Shows Florida Man Is Feeding Bears

New hard-to-dispute proof that people have fed bears in Seminole County has been revealed.

WESH 2 News obtained this photo, which shows a man named Eugene Cifers hand-delivering a meal to a black bear in the Lake Mary area -- just a few homes away from where a woman was attacked in April.

There's now a legal case pending against this man. While the man has pleaded not guilty, officials say that they also found evidence outside of Cifers' house that points to his pattern of behavior.

I rather feed the wildlife than the 90,,000 illegal kids and teenagers flooding the southern border! All hail the phony, deadbeat President in the White House for his attempts to bankrupt this nation into a third world country!

Yes, it is against the law in Florida to feed wild animals, especially bears, yet developers insist on building homes directly across the street, in some cases, from posted game preserves invading habitat. Feeding them makes them lose their shyness around humans, and they're especially dangerous when the come out looking for food.

Why blame the developers for this? They are simply trying to make a living. They can't build on any land unless they apply for and receive the zoning and building permits from the government. You want to place blame it's with the government. Then you have simple stupidity. People who feed dangerous wild animals are stupid.

Bottom line? Government and stupidity are to blame.

You're the idiot. Animals only 'eat people' (what a mature phrase) when they are hungry. They don't hurt for the sake of hurting, the way humans do.

Were you looking in the mirror when you said "You're an idiot?" It's not true that animals only hunt when they're hungry, and every overfed house cat stalking a mouse is proof of that. There are many instances of animals hunting just because they like to hunt and kill. Wolf attacks on livestock are common, and they'll kill way more than they can eat. The various cat species enjoy stalking and hunting just for the fun of it. A cat or wolf (or bear) might have just satisfied his hunger completely, but if a rabbit happens to run past, they'll give chase and kill it.

It might be true that animals only eat people when they are hungry....but they are always hungry. Sheesh, haven't you heard the stories of people being attacked and gnawed on by bears they've been feeding? Do you think those bears are starving?

Get a grip. There's a reason we call them wild animals. They don't have altruistic motives, they aren't innocent, and often they are not very nice.

It is unfortunate that we have built homes around and into nature preserves. Our wildlife has no where else to go. Regardless, NEVER feed wild animals, especially bears and alligators. They come to rely on the food then when they stroll into someone's garage looking for a treat they are considered a dangerous nuisance and have to be put down.

The building of homes on or near wild life preserves can be called GREED. The greed of the rich to become even richer, at the expense of people and animals.

Lucky you weren't around with that logic when we built this country or no one could have constructed a home in what is now down town New York City.

So no new houses?

While are at it why don't we tear down all the houses that were built in what was bear territory?

The same should be said about the illegals and the homeless, the more you feed them the more they expect it and they can turn on you in a split second!

Funny how the guy feeding the bears wasn't attacked. I'd rather feed the wild life any day than the millions of idiots in prison for rape, murder, torture!
