12-foot python trapped in BBQ grill by Florida residents

Florida Residents Trap Python In BBQ Grill
Check this out! A 12-foot Burmese python that slithered into a gated community in Florida Thursday night.

Residents, who were enjoying BBQ before the unwanted guest arrived, called 911...but ended up taking matters into their own hands when they learned it would take at least half an hour before authorities could help them out.

The snake went under a BBQ grill and then other residents came to help.

They managed to get the snake into the grill and under the cover. Then one homeowner bravely used a pillowcase to bag the snake until help arrived. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.

Burmese pythons are known as an invasive species and have trouble finding big enough prey in Florida, making humans are pretty tasty target.

The snake was turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

They should have killed that snake. Florida has a problem with these snakes because of people letting them go.........irresponsible "pet" owners.

Being an invasive species they should be killed as soon as they are found, and if they target people then kids are at risk so they should never be let go. KIDS RIGHTS ? WHERE IS WASHINGTON ON THIS?

Kill the snakes. They are not native and will destroy the eco system in Florida and people and pets along the way.

For all of you who believe that the problem here in Florida with boas and pythons has to do with irresponsible pet owners letting them loose--not so much. A huge number of snakes wound up in the Everglades back in 1991 when Hurricane Andrew blew down an exotic animal storage facility in Homestead FL.

This ol hillbilly fails to see a problem. It was already on the grill. Slow cook for 4 hours at 225 and a little KC Masterpiece Hickory BBQ sauce, a side of my baked beans and tater salad, and invite the neighbors with the cooler filled with PBR. Hey, tastes like chicken.

I'm not planning on ever putting another snake in a pillow case... and I'm sure my husband agrees...not half as much fun as you think it might be...

12 gauge, much easier. I'm wondering how they got the whole 12' snake in a pillowcase cause a six footer is a tight fit
