Graceland may remove Elvis Presley's old airplanes

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - For 30 years, tourists from around the world have paid money to get a look at two airplanes once owned by Elvis Presley at the Graceland tourist attraction in Memphis. By April of next year, the planes could be gone.

Elvis Presley Enterprises, which operates the Graceland tourist attraction, has written to the planes' owners saying it wants the jets, named Lisa Marie and Hound Dog II, removed from Graceland in late April 2015. The planes were sold after Presley's death, and were eventually purchased by OKC Partnership in Memphis.

OKC Partnership and Graceland agreed to bring the two jets to Graceland, where they have been a popular tourist attraction since the mid-1980s.

WHY? A story with no story. What is the reason these people want the planes removed? Who runs a museum successfully by getting rid of the attractions?

Why? They've been there for years.I was surprised that they weren't owned outright by Graceland or Lisa Marie.

Knowing some the the decisions this new group, (Silverman) that bought Graceland Enterprise, (the land and shops), except for Graceland (the home and surroundings), a few years back, have made, it is about adding more shops for bigger revenue and the planes take up too much land. Lisa Marie still owns the home and grounds it sits on. It is only a business to Silverman and from day one Silverman bought Graceland Ent., it has been one dumb decision after another. They have never listened to the true Elvis fans and the true fans have been upset with Silverman from the beginning. They (Silverman), are slowly deleting everything that respects Elvis and what he did to earn the respect of the fans. My wife and I attend every August and stay for the week, (since 1979), and have watched all the changes from the good ones in the beginning and then after Silverman purchase, the bad changes. What a disrespect to Elvis and his fans throughout the world.

If elvis was still alive, the planes would have been long gone. All they are doing is haveing the planes moved by the new owners. It does not say they will be junked. I am sure they will still be around.
