Anchor Greg Kelly makes bikini segment awkward

Anchor Ogles Reporter Live On-Air

A New York morning TV anchor is finding himself back in the hot seat. Last Thursday, Greg Kelly, one of the hosts of Good Day New York, got a bit inappropriate during a live report where colleague Anna Gilligan swung into a pool in a bikini.

If appearing on television in nothing but a two-piece isn't nerve racking enough, Gilligan was also subjected to Kelly's creepy comments. Kudos to the camera man for having the decency to get her off camera.

The story quickly went viral, with people on Twitter calling him a "creep" and accusing him of sexual harassment -- and those are some of the nicer things people said.

Thursday's comments reminded viewers of the 2012 rape allegations against Kelly, son of former NYPD commissioner Ray Kelly. The host was accused of attacking a woman at her office, but text messages discovered after the alleged incident undermined the victim's claims.

This is nothing but character assassination against Mr. Kelly. The on-air banter was typical of what is often semi-scripted by anchors. You can tell they weren't really offended. He didn't say anything a real red-blooded guy wouldn't say. I had a model once show me a photo of her wearing a similar bikini--I told her that was my favorite photo of her, and she wasn't offended at all. This is all about nothing. Mr. Kelly doesn't deserve these cheap shots.

This story is crap. He comments on a attractive women, who could have worn more if she were offended by someone looking at her, wearing a bikini and he's a creep? What??? I'm confused. Women reveal as nuch as they dare and if men look they are creeps. This is stupid!

This is a hyped up story. Anna looked great in her bikini and Greg noticed. It's a pretty natural reaction to a pretty woman in a bikini. I had a pretty similar reaction.

The woman that was his co-anchor made the situation sound much worse than it was. She should have stopped bringing it up.

A woman puts on as little as she can..... A man looks at her and he is a pig ..... Only a liberal with half a brain thinks he is a pig !

If they didn't expect him to say something, maybe she shouldn't have went on TV half dressed.

She's 90% naked and he's a creep? I guess he needs to put more clothes on.

Good point--it's all because Kelly's dad is the ex police commisioner, and, therefore, not in league with the liberal commentators .

I think the announcer here ragging on Kelly is gay. Men that have a problem with heterosexuals are gay.
Bringing up old news about rape allegations. We live in a country where we are "innocent" unless "proven" guilty in court by law.

Yes--and to your last point, although innocent until proven guilty is about the justice system, not public opinion, at the same time, everyone has to remember that it is shockingly easy to be arrested and charged with a crime where the level of proof needed is merely "probable cause." This is why most states allow charges to be expunged--to protect the reputation of the innocent.
