Robin Thicke tries to get Paula Patton back in 'Get Her Back' video

According to Robin Thicke's not-so-subtle new video 'Get Her Back' (dedicated to estranged wife Paula Patton), he's hurting on the inside and the outside -- and he'd really like the public to know the depths of his pain.

After writing an album called 'Paula,' which will drop on July 1st, he released the album's first video for the single on June 23rd. The public first heard 'Get Her Back' when it debuted at the Billboard Music Awards in May.

The video shows the crooner staring into the camera, battered and bruised, wiping his eyes. Throughout the video, personal texts that seem to be tidbits of painful conversations with Patton pop up on screen. He also tugs at his wedding ring, though it's tough to say if he's trying to take it off or desperately keep it on. As Thicke sings, a beautiful woman who could be Patton's look-alike appears.

Since splitting in February from his wife of nine years, Thicke has been public about his efforts to win her back ... but he's really laying it on Thicke (sorry, had to) with this latest attempt.

Thicke and Patton were high school sweethearts, and they met when Thicke was just 14 years old. On February 24th, the parents of Julian Fuego, three, released this joint statement: "We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time."

US Weekly reports that, "Days after their split, he dedicated a song to Patton at a concert in Fairfax, VA., telling the crowd, "For y'all that don't know, me and my wife separated but I'm trying to get my girl back.'"
