3 shot after Denver-area concert, suspect sought

3 Shot At Concert At Colorado's Famous Red Rocks

GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) -- Law officers were searching for a gunman early Friday after shooting erupted outside a suburban Denver concert that left three people wounded, authorities said.

Red Rocks Amphitheater was shut down after the shooting in the parking lot about 10:30 p.m. Thursday as the concert was ending, Jefferson County Sheriff's spokesman Mark Techmeyer said.

The three wounded traveled by car into nearby Denver where they were located by police and taken to a hospital.

Techmeyer said the gunshot wounds did not appear to be life-threatening, but he had no other information on the injured.

He said authorities were looking for a black male with a rifle.

Thousands of people were at the concert and all cars were searched as they left.

"Each vehicle is being checked to make sure that the suspect wasn't trying to smuggle himself out of the park," Techmeyer told The Associated Press.

No arrests had been made as early Friday.

Techmeyer said investigators were talking to witnesses and trying to determine what touched off the shooting.

The Denver Post said Nas, Schoolboy Q and Flying Lotus performed at Red Rocks, a well-known concert venue where the audience sits in an outdoor amphitheater.

Wait a minute, I thought gun control, legalizing marijuana, and living in a La La Liberal Love everybody state would stop things like this from happening.

No. Outlawing ownership of all guns by private citizens is their answer.

Forgot to mention...the article mentions that the shooter used a rifle. I certainly hope it wasn't one of those scary looking black semi-automatic rifles, as Denver banned them. Surely the shooter wouldn't break that law... (ok...snark off)

Sure, blame the conservatives, in a liberal state that just enacted some of the toughest gun laws. By the way the shooting suspect was black which means there's a 93% chance that he was a liberal as well, but it must be the conservatives fault, right?

How could this happen with all the strict gun control laws enacted in Colorado last year?

How could it? Easily, buy it in a lax gun control state & bring it to Colorado. No one knows at this point exactly how the shooter obtained the gun, but more often than not, that is what happens.

3 commnets , one blames blacks, the next blames music the 3rd blames drugs for the shooting, but no one blamed guns.

Why would Red Rocks or any other venue even book those acts? Trouble follows them wherever they perform.
Someone should find some creative grounds on which to sue the musical groups where shootings and other violence occurs.

Colorado is a very liberal state. It is a very sick state. Liberalism and the thug life go hand in hand.
