'Untying The Knot': Luxury Shoe Collection's Value Shocks Owner

On "Untying The Knot," Divorce Attorney Vikki Ziegler helped Tim and Kelly Weiss divide up their assets after eight years together.

Now, they're fighting over their home outside of Chicago, Tim's pension, an antique sword collection they bought together in Europe and Kelly's very large shoe collection, which Kelly said they spent between $20,000-25,000 dollars on.

Unfortunately, that shoe collection didn't pay off:

Vikki: "The Millea brothers valued the shoe collection at $4,500 dollars.
Kelly: "That is super shocking. I'm kind of at a loss for words.
Tim: "I feel like I just opened up the window and just threw hundreds out the window.

Let's say it all together: shoes do not hold their value.

Luckily, it was a different story for the sword collection. Tim said he bought the swords for 100 Euro, or about $137 in the US. Turns out the appraisers valued the swords at about $4,000. Vikki also decided that Tim would get 100 percent of his pension and Kelly would get 100 percent of the equity in the home.

The Wrap notes that the new show is a less romantic and more sober view on marriage and called Vikki's approach to "divorce management" unique and realistic.

What do you think about the show? Is it interesting ... or just depressing?

Are these people really so stupid that they would think worn shoes retained their retail value?

Yes. It's called a "human interest" story. If you pick up any local newspaper (if any still exist) you'll find human interest stories.

This show is far from interesting. I watched one episode and all I saw was bitter greedy women. Before anyone says anything stupid, I am a woman. This show is making the women come across as bitter and greedy. Makes them seem like gold diggers. Perhaps it would of been best if they added what happened in the marriage to split the couple. I didn't catch that in the one episode I watched and I am not interested in watching anymore to see if they add that.

It must be the editing. Right?

Show is boring but it's incredibly offensive that Vikki blamed the husband for bad behavior in the marriage when it was due to his PTSD from serving in the military.

I don't know anything about this useless wife, but when women behave like that it's because there's no love on their part. It's all about them and what has anyone done for her lately? Although, I have no sympathy for him....he couldn't see this while he was dating her? Ya, right. With men, it's always about the looks so they deserve whatever they get. Maybe if they would bother to hook up with someone who had substance, they wouldn't find themselves in these positions they get themselves into.

Wow. "Useless wife?" And "With men, it's always about the looks..."

Boy, do you need a dose of reality and a serious attitude adjustment.

It's a great show warning men of the dangers and inequities of marriage.

No gun . . . . . . but . . . . She held a Vagina to his head.

Perhaps it is also a warning to women about the dangers and inequities of marriage.

As David S said, it takes two to tango, and the man is not an innocent victim.

What about her pention? Oh, your right, he was gold digging, at work. A females comment. And 25 grand on shoes? Bitter and Greedy indeed. Females, cosign this twitt and show the world who you really are. There might be only 50 women in this country worth even speaking to anymore.

This is the true source of the destruction of the "sanctity of marriage" not a gay couple who love one another and want to marry.

Generally, this is how the media works, be it TV news, reality shows or Internet or whatever. They present a story; stupid, smart, with or without facts, whatever. You watch or read and are intrigued, enlightened, insulted, angered, disinterested, whatever. The point is the media is not interested in your opinions and thoughts to the story, but only to what it means to them in advertising revenue. That is how the entire media works and survives. So if they put an idiot reality series on TV and people watch, they do not care how stupid the show is as long a people watch and they sell advertising. Actually, the resulting interest is more of a barometer of the people who watch rather then the value of the show..
