'Naked' cakes are latest wedding dessert trend

A new wedding trend is encouraging the bride and groom to let it all hang out ... when it comes to their cake.

They've been dubbed "naked cakes" because they aren't dressed in any of that sweet frosting, leaving no guesses as to what guests will be eating later.

If you are willing to rise to the occasion, be warned: The exposed crumb finish causes them to dry out a little faster so they can't be prepared ahead of time like normal outfitted cakes.

Chefs recommend you stick to natural elements. Berries, fruit preserves and smaller, fresh flowers can make the perfect finish.
