Study Ranks Worst Cities To Raise Children

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - This may be another wake up call for parents in Louisiana. A new report from personal finance site, WalletHub, says New Orleans is one of the worst cities for families.

Out of 150 cities, 1 being the best city for families and 150 being the worst, The Big Easy came in at 118. Detroit was dead last on the list and Plano, Texas topped the list as the best city for families.

Most Louisiana cities ranked near the bottom of the list. Shreveport came in at 120 and Baton Rouge came in at 123.

The worst for families:
1. Detroit, MI
2. Miami, FL
3. Birmingham, AL
4. Jackson, MS
5. San Bernardino, CA

And the best:
1. Plano, TX
2. Sioux Falls, SD
3. Overland Park, KS
4. Fremont, CA
5. Irvine, CA

The cities were ranked by "family livability," meaning the quality of jobs, the cost of housing, quality of schools, and recreation. The study also took into account safety and socio-economic environment.

Plano, TX... hmmmm... I enjoyed living there as the city expanded in the early-mid 80's. It was a nice place, generally. However... it was also known as the teen suicide capitol of the USA. Later, it was the heroin addiction capitol. I can't imagine that this pathology has really chaged that much to make it the best place in the country to raise your kids.

Wonder how the demographics break down as to the race ratios..Could that be the deciding factor?

Apparently, the hundred thousands of illegal alien kids storming across the southern border don't care about the first or last-ranked city! America means tax payer-funded free everything. Say it again: TAX PAYER-FUNDED FREE EVERTHING!!! All because of a piss pour phony president who has uses the Constitution as toilet paper!

When on knows not of what they speak, it is best to keep the mouth shut. They will not be tax payer supported. They will have to go to school and/ or work.

You have the wrong President disrespecting the Constitution! Remember when Dubya called the Constitution "that g/d piece of paper"? What short, selective memories some of you have.

These lists are inane. The best place to raise a family is wherever the RESPONSIBLE and MATURE parents want to live. The town shouldn't make a difference. I lived in Birmingham for 10 years (about 20 years ago - in Homewood, not in the city itself) and it seemed fine for kids. And I was born in Miami and still live in S. FL.

Of course, I never had kids and never liked them, so my personal experiences have nothing to do with this. However the bottom line is you can put selfish, lazy breeders and their brood in Sioux Falls, South Dakaota and the kids will still end up out-of-control, spoiled and worthless.

Race is not the factor in Plano or in any other city/town in Texas. Let us remember that slightly more than half of those children will be girls who will grow up to be women. I ask you, with Perry, Cruz, Abbott, Farenthold, and the rest of those ***holes, what woman in her right mind would want to live in Texas?

Guess what, folks? WE DON'T CARE! Our kids grow up in a unique New Orleans atmosphere, and when they get out on their own, they have a lot more common sense, more acceptance of diverse people, and more knowledge about music.

Brainless 'burbs like Irvine and Plano? With tract, identical housing stretching as far as the eye can see? That produces Republicans and other people who have NO awareness of the world around them.
