Worst 'Wheel Of Fortune' answer ever

Worst 'Wheel Of Fortune' Guess Ever?

It's being called "the worst Wheel Of Fortune answer of all time." The rules of the long-running game show are a fairly straight forward; it's basically Hangman. Contestants guess different letters until they can figure out the word or phrase, but the contestant in this video was apparently trying to change the phrase.

The category was "song lyric," and Stephen had all but five letters of the famous Jan and Dean lyric "Surf City, here we come." Only he guessed, "Surf clay where we go."

While that may be the worst guess in the show's history, Stephen is not the worst contestant. That has to be Indiana student, Julian Batts, who blew his chance at a million dollar prize.

They are making fun of him, but they can't even count. "Missing all but 5 letters". There were only 4 letters missing.....

For the life of me I can't understand why people complain when something isn't "real" news . . . . this is a human interest story. Not everything has to be hard news or soft news. Daahhhhhh.

Exactly! The teaser said "Wheel of Fortune", which to me indicates that it is entertainment related, not news news.

It's in entertainment, in case you didn't see the heading it's listed under.

W'all ain't too danged hard on anyone. This guy is a college student and he could not pronounce "Achilles", as in Achilles' heel. Then there was the other dumbbo who couldn't figure out that he already had the last word up there (and said the wrong word), had a 4-letter word but said a 5-letter word, AND used another word that didn't make any sense in the phrase. Unless you were one of those contestants, then don't tell me that we're being too hard on them.

I saw that episode, too. He did not say "clay" but "play."

Guess that makes him more stupid, why say a "p" when a "c" is clearly on the board?

when you are in that situation, your mind goes blank. I stopped watching the game, when some contestants are so greedy that they do not allow the other contestants to participate.

Sure and when someone solves an obscure puzzle people say they cheated.

I actually saw an episode when I was much younger where the contestant guessed "E.T. takes one to know one" The actual puzzle was "It takes one to know one". The only letter missing was the "I".

That's pretty funny. I'm guessing that the contestant must have been young.
