Cast of 'The Wonder Years' reunites after 21 years
By ANDREW TAVANI
Beginning in 1988, the eminently lovable Arnold family began taking American TV viewers on a weekly journey to the turbulent late 1960s and early 1970s in ABC's nostalgic sitcom 'The Wonder Years.' On Thursday, the cast of the beloved show reunited some 21 years after the series finale aired -- and the photos of the event immediately took Twitter and the rest of the Internet by storm.
All the key players -- Jack and Norma; Kevin, Wayne and Karen; Winnie and Paul --were on hand, as US Magazine reports, to record some retrospective material for the upcoming release of 'The Wonder Years: The Complete Series' DVD collection. And the actors posted several photos of the reunion on Twitter. (Not on hand for the reunion was Daniel Stern, the actor who voiced the adult version of Kevin, who narrated the show.)
'The Wonder Years' debuted on ABC in 1988 and wrapped up in 1993 with a memorable 'Independence Day' series finale, that ended with the culmination of the long-running love story between Kevin Arnold and Winnie Cooper that was one of the prime threads that held all six seasons of the series together. The show picked up a slew of awards during its run on network TV, including three prime-time Emmys. Another signature element of the show was Joe Cocker's soulful rendition of The Beatles 'With a Little Help from My Friends,' which played over the opening credits.
Above, see the photos of Fred Savage, Dan Luria, Alley Mills, Olivia d' Abo, Jason Hervey, Danica McKellar, and Josh Saviano (who's now a lawyer and completely out of show business) from the big reunion -- and then take the ultimate trip down memory lane by looking at scores of pics of the show in its heyday, as it took American viewers on a trip down memory lane. (Yes, Kevin is wearing his Jets jacket in many of the pics.) And below, watch a video on the reunion of one of America's all-time greatest TV families.
