Emma Watson graduates from Brown University

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - It's graduation day for movie star Emma Watson.

The British actress best known as Hermione Granger in the "Harry Potter" movies was among 2,000 graduates receiving degrees Sunday from Brown University. She tweeted a photo of herself in cap and gown.

Watson graduated with a bachelor's degree in English literature from the Ivy League university in Rhode Island.

The 24-year-old started at Brown in 2009, the same year she was named the highest-grossing actress of the decade by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Watson had a busy film career during her time as a student, releasing both parts of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," ''The Perks of Being a Wallflower," ''This is the End," and the recent Biblical epic "Noah."

A beautiful young LADY who didn't have to gain popularity through a sex tape, drug & alcohol addiction or twerking. I'm shocked!

Congrats to her. A REAL "role model" for young girls.

Kudos to this wonderful young woman for all of her accomplishments. She is what a role model for young women, teens and tweens should always be. Congratulations for understanding that priorities matter and proving that he choices she made kept her priorities straight.

Congratulations. SMART AND BEAUTIFUL. So many actors/actresses do not accomplish this. She can always fall back on her degree (if she needs to which she probably won't).
SUCH A GREAT ROLE MODEL for young people !

Although I admire her accomplishment, what fall back on an English Literature degree, Undergraduate at that you you envision for her????? Really??? There are plenty of people who have more than an English Degree in Lit. who are falling out of the job market and they probably have some experience in their fields. Let's be for real. The days of falling back on a major with no demand are over.
