Lion must be having a pretty wild dream

Lion Roars During Sleep Thanks to Wild Dreams

Ever had to deal with a loud snorer? Well, Hercules is about to put that noise in perspective. Apologies in advance if this makes you a bit sleepy.

Rescued African lion Hercules must have been having a pretty wild dream while he took a snooze at the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado. He practically roared himself awake, much to the amusement of the people watching him.

Hercules lives in a 20-acre habitat and sometimes dreams that he is defending his territory. During these dreams, Hercules lets out impressive roars to show his power.

Uploader Pat Craig notes that "much like dogs do (where they dream of barking or running in their sleep), lions also have vivid dreams."

Sounds like Obama trying to motivate Nancy and Harry at telling the truth at the Washington Liar Club. 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Or he's just alll noise, wind, and empty threats!

My female Australian Shepard often rolls upside down in her sleep and looks like she is running upside down as he moves her legs in a very fast manner. She barks, grunts, yelps, and finally farts. Its her farting is what wakes her up and causes her to become very scared. She will growl at her own flatulence; even while she is awake she is startled.

It's adorable if he is indeed dreaming and not having seizures. He looks ok, I guess we've all been there!! He must be exhausted to sleep through all that. Beautiful lion!!

That's what I was thinking at first, too! I was concerned he was having a seizure because of the very rhythmic pattern in which he was vocalizing - toward the end, though, it did seem more like sleep-roaring than seizure-like activity.

I didn't think seizures, but certainly thought he sounded distressed, and thought someone should wake him up. Maybe for him, it's a good dream though....

On the contrary crowland503 the video kind of reminds me of the right wing trying to just make noise over something imaginary and in their dreams. Sort of like your comment.

Our Heidi, a German Shepherd/Border Collie mix, "talks" in her sleep QUITE often - the best times are when she howls in her sleep. We call it her "so pretty singin'!"
