Alligator found in Florida couple's pool

Alligator Found In Florida Couple's Pool

A Florida couple had a rude awakening early Tuesday morning. They heard a loud noise from outside and went to check it out. WWSB spoke with the homeowner:

"So when I came out to the patio to explore I saw something that is not usually in the pool along with the little floaty, and it turned out to be an 8-foot alligator."

Sharon Bente and her husband found the animal just after four in the morning. It seems it had broken through their fence in the backyard. John Bente told ABC about the surprising encounter.

JOHN BENTE : "And he was just swimming around in circles and he tried to get up here for a while. I think he was a little intimidated with everybody watching. ... It was quite an evening."

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the family called the sheriff's department, and a trained alligator-trapper came and removed the animal.

Of course, in the state of Florida, gators are not that uncommon. Florida Fish and Wildlife reports more than 1.3 million of the scaly swimmers live there.

That's about 1 gator to every 14 people. Yikes.

What else COULD happen with the mass immigration of humans into the territories of OTHER species?

It was THEIR home first!

don't dangle your feet off a bridge over a small inland stream and watch out in dense undergrowth around trails or you're gator bait!

Try swimming in your pool and find you are swimming with a water moccasin!!!!....I don't think my feet even touch the top of the water!

There is no problem with swimming with a Water moccasin as long it is not a Cotton Mouth moccasin. Given a chance all snakes in the USA will try to get away from you.

A Cotton Mouth is the same as a water moccasin.

Eight foot gators are not relocated in Florida, but gator tail is popular.
