NBA's biggest losers look for lottery win

Wiggins Not Focused On Being Top Pick

By BRIAN MAHONEY
AP Basketball Writer

NEW YORK (AP) -- They lost often, as in 67 times for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Sometimes they lost always, as in 26 straight times for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Now the NBA's biggest losers have a chance for a huge win.

The draft lottery is Tuesday, a night some teams appeared to be aiming toward for months during a season featuring plenty of talking about tanking.

The winner gets the No. 1 pick in next month's draft, when an Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker might make all of this season's misery worth it.

It's a potential make-or-break night for some teams, which is why a program about the results of a random drawing ends up as the prime-time lead-in for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals.

I haven't watched the NBA since the draft was introduced. The team with the worst record should get the first pick just like the NFL

The NBA has 30 teams, each playing 82 games which is alot of games. They play all those games to decide which 14 of the 30 are not good enough to be in the playoffs. Even though if you have a loosing record you still can be in the playoffs anyway just because. NCAA foorball has alot more than 30 teams yet only 4 will be allowed in a playoff. Wouldnt it be interesting to see the NBA try a mid season tournament like the ncaa with the tourney winner guaranteed a playoff spot no matter what their record ends up being? Or a top draft pick, reward them for winning not loosing.

I am a sports fan and personal y do not watch the NBA until the playoffs but will not begrudge anyone their right to take what the market will bare.
