NBA's biggest losers look for lottery win

Wiggins Not Focused On Being Top Pick

By BRIAN MAHONEY
AP Basketball Writer

NEW YORK (AP) -- They lost often, as in 67 times for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Sometimes they lost always, as in 26 straight times for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Now the NBA's biggest losers have a chance for a huge win.

The draft lottery is Tuesday, a night some teams appeared to be aiming toward for months during a season featuring plenty of talking about tanking.

The winner gets the No. 1 pick in next month's draft, when an Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker might make all of this season's misery worth it.

It's a potential make-or-break night for some teams, which is why a program about the results of a random drawing ends up as the prime-time lead-in for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals.

I haven't watched the NBA since the draft was introduced. The team with the worst record should get the first pick just like the NFL

It was changed because The Orlando Magic had the first pick two year in a row.

NBA has lost many, many of its biggest followers in the last few years.I being one of them. Its just not that watchable anymore, except for maybe the playoffs and to watch some of the players, with the crimes they committ, and just don't seem to understand what a privledge it is to play in the largest basketball league in the world.Maybe its not the league ,but the colleges who raise these huge cry babies.

The NBA became the National Boring Association long ago...the lottery is joke. The season comes at the end of baseball, thru football, and into June of the baseball season. I hope Sterling sues them all... don't agree with what he said BUT he was having a private talk and he (under California law) was illegally recorded. What happened to free speech in this country? If he still owns the team I bet he'll have plenty of players lining up for those cushy million dollar salaries!

Racists always cry out "What about free speech?" when they get caught in the lurch, but free speech also applies to those who want or need to complain about obnoxious things other people say. So yes "free speech" is alive and well in this country.

Free speech only means you are allowed to say what you want. Not be free from any consequences that may happen. Walk in to your boss tomorrow and call him every dirty name in the book you can think of and see if you get fired. Same deal. The person who broke the law should also be punished. But if Sterling is dumb enough to open his mouth and spew hatred then he deserves the backlash. By the way it says in his contract with the NBA that if any person who defames the NBA brand is subject to being barred and Kicked out of the association. When such a high percentage of your fan base and players are of the people you talk negatively about then cry because you got caught with your pants down you're a fool.

Do they make a kid who's right out of high school, and make him stay in collage before he can work for McDonalds or work in some other complicity in the NBA, why do they make a ball player stay in collage before he can play in the NBA. Kind of a double standard.

They have to be able to sign their names to those big contracts and checks and learn to say, "we be focus"
