Avon recalls eyelash curler after injury reports

Avon Recalls Eyelash Curler After Injury Reports

They say beauty is pain, but beauty products shouldn't be painful.

Cosmetic company Avon is recalling more than 500,000 ergonomic eyelash curlers in the U.S. and Canada after several people reported being injured by it.

The company says it received 24 reports of an eyelash curler breaking, 13 of which resulted in injury.

When the curler breaks, a metal pin inside the curler reportedly becomes exposed.

Consumers are urged to stop using the curlers if they already have one.

They can return it to Avon for a refund or exchange it for a mascara.

Is this reporting us not to use ANY brand of eyelash curler because they are ALL dangerous?

When I saw the headline I honestly expected to read something about injuries from curling eyelashes while driving* or eyelids being snipped/cut during the crimp. Never expected being stabbed by one of the pins.

*Yes, I've witnessed women driving 60mph on the highway while applying eyeliner and curling eyelashes----on numerous occasions.

I will take this space to mention a story that AOL-HP decided not to cover. New memos that were only released because an outside group sued the Administration shows that the targeting of Americans citizen groups seeking 501C4 exemptions was controlled by the IRS in DC and not what we had been told rouge IRS agents in Cincinati. Iknow eyelash curlers being defective and causing 13 injuries is serious news but using the most powerful federal agency to target freedom of speach might be worth a mention on AOL-HP.

Does it work to regrow lashes? What happens if you stop using? Do lashes fall out?
