Larry Wilmore to replace Colbert on Comedy Central

NEW YORK (AP) - Comic Larry Wilmore of the "Daily Show" has earned Stephen Colbert's coveted Comedy Central timeslot following Jon Stewart each night.

Comedy Central said Friday that Wilmore will host "The Minority Report" at 11:30 each week night. An African-American, Wilmore will add a different perspective to a late-night landscape dominated by white males.

Colbert is ending his Comedy Central show at the end of this year and will take over for David Letterman at CBS' "Late Show" next year.

Wilmore has written for three shows, "The Bernie Mac Show," ''In Living Color" and "The Jamie Foxx Show."

If he is going to be different, I assume that means he will balance his Liberal views with Conservative views. Fairness to all. Sure!

Wow, the producer of The Bernie Mac and Whoopi show is going to replace Colbert. This is destined to be a loser. Of course in the spirit of PC diversity CC will prop this up until it is no longer viable to fund.

Craig Ferguson should be replacing Letterman. Then if Stephen Colbert was still a choice he could fill the slot left open by Craig Ferguson. Either way, losing Craig Ferguson leaves a huge void on CBS late night.

To each their own, its good Letterman is gone maybe Colbert will be better.
