Ellen Page dropped by "The Colbert Report," and talked about her experience coming out at The Human Rights Campaign's "Time to Thrive" conference.
Ellen told Colbert that coming out was one of the most nerve-wracking moments of her life but at the same time she was thrilled to be at a place where she was ready to do it. She also said she was grateful for the support that she's received.
But Colbert thought Ellen should have waited to make the announcement that she was gay on his show to boost his ratings. He said it would be have been incredible. So... they tried for a do-over.
COLBERT: "So Ellen, uh, thanks for coming on the show, are you seeing anybody right now?"
ELLEN: "No, actually I've been dating a really nice guy named Brad..."
ELLEN: "No... I'm gay."
COLBERT SPITS HIS WATER OUT
Apparently after Ellen came out, there was so much response that it broke the Human Rights Campaign's website.
Ellen is now starring in the new film, "X-men: Days of Future Past," which hits theaters May 23.
