Plan for unidentified 9/11 remains draws protest

NEW YORK (AP) - Some family members of Sept. 11 victims say they will protest when the unidentified remains of those killed at the World Trade Center are returned to the site.

The family members said Thursday that the plan to house the remains in the same building as the National September 11 Memorial Museum is disrespectful.

They want the remains entombed on the adjacent Memorial Plaza.

Retired firefighter Jim Riches said Sept. 11 family members are outraged. Sally Regenhard said they dread the opening of the museum this month. Riches and Regenhard both lost firefighter sons.

City officials plan to move the remains from the medical examiner's office on Saturday.

The city says the remains will be in an area separate from the museum, though in the same building.br />

What the hell is going on in this screwed up state? If you people allow this to happen, then you may as well bend over and put a big sign on your back. REALLY !!!!!

Families should have the final say. Not friends, citizens, politicians. FAMILY. And if the families want their family remains in the Memorial Plaza NOT a Museum then that is where they should be. Period.

The remains in this incident should have stayed where they were found.

A tomb in the memorial plaza makes sense, But Most Politicians and people in high places who make decisions are senseless these days. and they create trouble where they should not be any.

Friends and family i lost a very good family friend that day . He is gone nothinng will bring them back. Can we not just remember them and keep them alive in our hearts till we see thm again. And we will see them again . what is left is just the vessel they used while on earth they are in heaven. where the remains go really let them rest in peace. NEVER forget them are the day Sept 11 but please lets let the remains go no matter where they put them. Some people just never want to heal I love each and everyone who lost their lives that offel day in our American history, i vow to love them till i hope get to heaven and thank each and everyone of them for what they gave up that day. Their remains are just that remains, i think they would be very upset at the family and friends who are making thiis an issue. We all really have much more to worry about in this country love you all

GOD BLESS YOU and all those that lost loved ones on 9/11.
You are still in the healing process; may always be to some extent. Never easy to lose someone, yet what you all have been through. We cannot begin to imagine.
Do think it is a good idea to have the remains buried in the Memorial Plaza and not have ANYTHING to do with the museum.

Oh my for some reason I thought they had already buried all the remains by now, they have been sitting in a medical examiners office this whole time UNBELIEVABLE! they need to be all laid to rest but I side with the victims families on this, I think that is absolutely the wrong spot for them to rest!!
