New 'Star Wars' film may have its title

'Star Wars: Episode VII' Reportedly Has A Working Title

The new Star Wars film may have its title. Since the first cast photo was released last week with what looks like scripts in their laps, we can only assume that one of those pages is the title page.

There has been a lot of speculation as to what JJ Abrams would call episode seven of the Star Wars saga, and MoviePilot is reporting that it will be called "The Order of the Jedi," and feature Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o as dark jedi Asajj Ventress. That rumor has not been confirmed or denied, and it should be pointed out that the character of Asajj is from Cartoon Network's "Clone Wars," which takes place between episodes two and three.

Today, Ain't It Cool News said that they have an unnamed source saying that the working title of the new film is "The Ancient Fear," a reference to the movie's villain, played by Max Von Sydow.

The title "The Ancient Fear" is reminiscent of Yoda's line about the path to the dark side from episode one, "Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering."

Yeah, sorry to have to remind fans of "The Phantom Menace," but it's an interesting thought to have episode seven be "The Ancient Fear," eight to be "The Ancient Anger," nine to be The Ancient Hate," and episode ten to be "The Ancient Suffering." Still, this is all just speculation.

I'm not sure we NEED an 'Episode 7' of Srar Wars. 4, 5 qand 6 (FIRST THREE) were good. Special Effects outstanding for the day. 1, 2 and 3 did nothing for me. Probably me, but then... And a NEW one? Does it pick up following Empire? How do they plan on explaining the AGE progression of the characters? Actors do not remain forever 18 years old. Makeup helps, but it's NOT a cureall. Soimething fresh and new is in order. Most folks today are hard pressed to identify the theme music, let alone identify or identify WITH the characters.

the new one is set 30 years in the future so the original actors would have aged appropriately.

Episod 7 would follow The Return of the Jedi, because that was episode 6. You explain the age progression with time progression.

I'm shocked, with their so called black star, it should be called "12 Years Too Long a Jedi."

I realy hope they dont screw this movie up.
I like all of the, BUT the first 3 from the 70's are still the best.
They put way to much CGI in the new 3.

New working title : "Zero Flop Thirty". ( Original release versions on VHS of 1st trilogy go for premium prices for a good reason. Lucas butchered them in reedit. )

Who cares about the title? The content is what matters. Only the 1st 3 episodes were any good anyway.

I'm sure Jar-Jar Abrams will screw up Star Wars just like he did Star Trek.

Actually, it is something that has slowly grown on me over time. The first one, 2009 reboot, is still a somewhat jarring experience. Into Darkness wasn't a bad ride though. They managed to reintroduce Khan well and showed him as ruthless and very intense with the ability to plan things out, much as he was portrayed in Space Seed...before he became all about revenge. I grew up as a second generation Trekker, born in 1970, fell in love with The Motion Picture and going back to watch the Original in reruns. I loved The Next Gen and DS9 but Voyager....luke warm and Enterprise...well it was bleh with wandering off from things established in the original such as the fact that Kirk and crew were the first to actually deal with cloaked Romulan ships, Picard and the Stargazer crew were the first to encounter the Ferengi...yet those are two examples trampled on by Enterprise the series....No, I can deal with the reimagined timeline now.
