College football star fulfills childhood promise to buy mom pink Cadillac

College Football Star Fulfills Childhood Promise To Buy Mom Pink Cadillac

It's that time of year when we let our moms know how much we care about them (though we should really be doing that daily, right?).

One college football player is giving his mom this message in a big, brightly colored way.

TEDDY: "I just want you to walk with me."
ROSE: "Walk with you where?"
TEDDY: "It's your new car."
ROSE: "For real?"

Let's take a better look at that car. Yes, former University of Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater gifted his mother Rose Murphy with a pink Cadillac Escalade.

The story behind this pink car is incredibly sweet.

Bridgewater told a writer for USA Today, "Riding home from one of my third-grade games, I just said, 'Mom, when I make it to the NFL, I'm going to buy you a pink Cadillac Escalade with pink rims.'"

Although at age nine, Bridgewater just assumed pink was the color every woman would want her car to be, the hue now holds a much deeper meaning for the two.

The Miami Herald says Bridgewater was just 14 years old when Murphy broke the news to him and his siblings that she had breast cancer. At the time, Bridgewater considered giving up football to help out his mother, but she made sure he stuck with it.

After many rounds of chemotherapy, Murphy is now in remission. Her son saluted her before every one of his football games.

Both Bridgewater and Murphy stopped by ABC's "Good Morning America" Tuesday to chat about that incredible gift.

Murphy said she remembers when her son made that promise, but she "didn't think it was gonna happen this soon. I thought it was gonna be a couple years down the road."

Bridgewater is currently on his way to making his NFL dream come true. We'll see which team takes him after the NFL draft begins Thursday.

This is terrific. Not so much about the car but about how much he loves his Mom and just wanted to show his love. Whether he plays in the NFL or not he seems like a great kid.

Only miserable people can type up something negative about this story. Just enjoy the fact that he loves his mom and did something nice for her. Go find something else to focus your negative energy on.
