Fans Stampede Out Of MGM Grand After Mayweather Fight

A stampede following the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Marcos Maidana title fight injured dozens at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

That was the scene inside the famed casino Saturday after undefeated boxer Mayweather beat Maidana in front of a sold-out crowd of more than 16,000 people.

The Las Vegas Sun reports spectators thought they heard gun shots ring out inside the casino's Garden Arena, but the loud bang was actually triggered by a fallen wall.

The bang sent thousands stampeding toward the exits, trampling several in the process. Witnesses painted a terrifying scene.

Spectators posted dozens of videos on social media, including this one from Rick Rogers.

MGM released a statement Sunday saying, "Safety is always a priority at our resort. We are investigating the situation thoroughly to understand more completely what occurred, to assist those affected, and to ensure further safety precautions."

At least 50 people were treated for injuries at the scene, while two dozen others were taken to local hospitals.

Kind of indicates what kind of people attend Fights. A throw back to the Roman gladiators. Boxing is uncivilized and nasty and people who enjoy watching someone get their face punched in for money are just plain sickos. And we call ourselves "Civilized" ??? LOL what a joke.

It comes down to, panic.
A wall fell down, went boom.

Self-preservation in a world where crowds are mowed down by nut-jobs.

This kind of panic could have happened at a convention of marshmallow lovers.
It happened at a club the band White-snake was performing in.
Panic, fear, blind trampling to save your own life.
The venue is moot.
Survival can come down to a primal clawing at life in an instant..

Oh, sure. You only go when the events are to half capacity then, right?

A few people thought they heard the firing of a gun, but it turned out to be Nancy Pelosi shouting "Obamacare!" in a crowded arena. Of course, the people stampeded out of the building in horror! Wouldn't you?

Isn't bagger a homosexual word and why aren't you being persecuted for offending them?

Was at the MGM Grand week before last. Horrible crowds! I'm not surprised that something like this could happen.
